S.Murat Çelikten
The founder of the Murat Law office, S. Murat Celikten, graduated from TED Ankara Foundation Schools and Ankara University Faculty of Law with a law degree. He also holds a master's degree in European Community Law from Ankara University's Social Sciences Institute. In recent years, he has concentrated especially on trade secrets, damages under arbitration and legal remedies against software criminals. He has involved in 30+ acquisition process and has also great experience in energy law.
His most well-known published publications are "Turkish Competition Law," "World Intellectual Property Rights and Remedies (Turkey)," and "Consumer Protection in A Global Economy." Many of his pieces, which have appeared in business and legal journals, have addressed intellectual property rights, trademarks, industrial designs, patents, franchise and distribution agreements, mergers and acquisitions.
He works closely with law societies, people, and authorities in Germany, Malta, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom and significantly counsels both domestic and international clients on issues pertaining to energy law, franchising, arbitration, intellectual and industrial property law, mergers and acquisitions, competition law, and foreign investment procedures.
He speaks German at an intermediate level and English fluently. He remains a registered trademark and patent agent with the Turkish Patent Institute over 27 years and a certified mediator, lawyer with Ankara Bar Association over 30 years. He is also a member of International Bar Association (IBA) as well as International Trademark Association (INTA).
