S.Murat Çelikten
The founder of the Murat Law office, S. Murat Celikten, graduated from TED Ankara Foundation Schools and Ankara University Faculty of Law with a law degree. He also holds a master's degree in European Community Law from Ankara University's Social Sciences Institute. In recent years, he has concentrated especially on trade secrets, damages under arbitration and legal remedies against software criminals. He has involved in 35+ acquisition process and has also great experience in merger deals.
His most well-known publications are "Turkish Competition Law," "World Intellectual Property Rights and Remedies (Turkey)," and "Consumer Protection in A Global Economy." Many of his pieces, which appeared in business and legal journals, addressed intellectual property rights, trademarks, industrial designs, patents, franchise and distribution agreements, mergers and acquisitions.
He works closely with law societies, individuals, and authorities in Germany, Malta, Italy, Switzerland, United States and United Kingdom and significantly counsels both domestic and international clients on issues pertaining to arbitration, energy law, intellectual and industrial property law, mergers and acquisitions, competition law and foreign investment procedures.
He speaks German at an intermediate level and English fluently. He remains a registered trademark and patent agent with the Turkish Patent Institute over 27 years and a certified mediator, advocate with Ankara Bar Association over 30 years. He is also a member of International Bar Association (IBA) as well as International Trademark Association (INTA).
