S.Murat Çelikten

The founder of the Murat Law office, S. Murat Celikten, graduated from TED Ankara Foundation Schools and Ankara University Faculty of Law with a law degree. He also holds a master's degree in European Community Law from Ankara University's Social Sciences Institute. During his postgraduate studies, he also conducted research at the University of East Anglia (UK) on liberalizing monopole markets to foster competition.

In recent years, he has focused particularly on trade secrets, damages in arbitration, and legal recourse against software offenders. He has participated in over 35+ acquisition processes and possesses substantial knowledge in merger transactions. He has represented parties in the negotiation and signing of qualified contracts during the licensing and transfer processes for energy law, particularly for numerous solar power plants, wind farms, and hydroelectric power plants. He represents/advises companies operating in the field of franchising within Turkey or represents the franchisees as the opposing party. In recent years, he has been active as a party representative in international arbitration proceedings before the ICC and LCIA, particularly those arising from construction law and sales contracts. He has a special interest in shareholder disputes in corporate law and is well-known in numerous qualified cases. In addition to these activities, he continues its work in representing clients in qualified intellectual and industrial property law cases.

His most prominent books include "Turkish Competition Law(published in Turkey)," "World Intellectual Property Rights and Remedies (published in USA)," and "Consumer Protection in a Global Economy(published in UK)" Numerous articles authored by him, published in business and legal publications, focused on intellectual property rights, trademarks, industrial designs, patents, franchise and distribution agreements, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

He collaborates closely with legal societies, individuals, and authorities in Germany, Malta, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom, providing substantial counsel to both domestic and international clients on matters related to arbitration, energy law, intellectual and industrial property law, mergers and acquisitions, competition law, and foreign investment regulations. He possesses moderate proficiency in German and speaks English proficiently. He has been a registered trademark and patent agent with the Turkish Patent Institute for 28 years and a licensed mediator and advocate with the Ankara Bar Association for over 30 years. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
